A story of hope

A story of hope

“I have always been a very organised person and have planned my life exactly so. I am an accountant so what can I say!! When my husband and I got married we decided that we would wait 5 years before starting our family as we wanted to be financially secure (although this is a fallacy as I don’t think you will ever have enough money when it comes to kids) and get our careers up and running before we had children.

When we started trying for a family we never dreamed that it would be such a long, hard and emotional journey that we would have to travel to one day fulfil our desire to become parents! After two unsuccessful years of trying we were told by our doctors that it would almost be impossible for us to conceive naturally. We tried the fertility treatment route. We have put ourselves through so many procedures, injections, pills and scans over the last 3 years. After two failed IVF and three failed IUI’s we just didn’t know what to do next. We prayed long and hard about what we should do. And after many hours of prayer and soul searching we decided that we would not do any more fertility treatments. Maybe this was not the path that God wanted us to follow.

We have done a lot of research into adoption and spoken to a lot of people who have gone through the adoption process and we now know that this is the path that God has chosen for us. Over the last year we have learnt a lot about the adoption process and have come to admire the social workers who are so passionate about what they do. We have a renewed respect and admiration for the special birth mothers who have made such a selfless decision and have put their babies’ needs’ before their own. We now wait in hope that one day our special baby will come home to us!”

The above couple received a call a month after this letter was written from their social worker to say they had been chosen as adoptive parents for a new born baby boy.  The adoption process was smooth and successful.  Their son is now just over a year old happy, healthy and adored!
